Thomas Whalan Private Water Polo Lesson
Domestic: Thomas began his playing career as a 12 year old with the Sydney University Water Polo Club. At the age of 15 he was selected in the Australian Youth team and toured Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia. Thomas continued to compete for the Sydney University Lions in the Australia National Water Polo League winning three titles with the Club.
International: Thomas’ talents as a water polo player took him to Europe; highlights of Thomas’ international career include winning the Copa Del Rey in 2003 with Club Natació Barcelona in the Spanish League. Winning another Copa Del Rey in 2004 a year later with Club Atlètic Barceloneta. Thomas played in the Italian League for 4 years (SS Nervi 2005/06 & Rari Nantes Savona 2006/09) before returning to Atlètic Barceloneta where he helped his team win the league and one final Copa Del Rey.
Olympics: Thomas has competed at 4 Olympic Games. His debut was the 2000 Summer Olympics at just 19 years of age, in the 2004 Summer Olympics as Vice-Captain, in the 2008 Summer Olympics as Captain and in the 2012 Summer Olympics. During his career Thomas has represented Australia in over 350 internationals.
